Tooth Whitening
At Iver Dental Care, we use a customised professional home bleaching system supplied by Optident.
Optident is a well-established dental materials company. They were pioneers in bringing the best American tooth whitening products to the UK and we have worked with them for many years now.
Teeth whitening involves bleaching your teeth to make them lighter. It can’t make your teeth brilliant white, but it can lighten the existing colour by several shades. Teeth whitening is a form of dentistry and should only be carried out by a dentist or another regulated dental professional, such as a dental hygienist or dental therapist, on the prescription of a dentist.
The best and most controlled method of tooth whitening is using a professionally custom made enamel cover (like a sports mouthguard but much thinner).
Patients wear this over their teeth with a measured amount of whitener inside the tooth cover. This can be worn at night whilst sleeping and this often seen as the most effective method.
Alternatively treatments for two hours daily can be effective but will need more treatments over a longer period.
